PM Modi on Monday inaugurated the newly constructed Z-Morh tunnel in Sonamarg located in Jammu and Kashmir. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and J-K LG Manoj Sinha were present at the ceremony.
The Z-Morh Tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir connects Gagangir and Sonamarg in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district. The tunnel provides all-weather access to Sonamarg, replacing the avalanche-prone Z-turn road.
Located at an altitude of over 8,650 feet, Z-Morh Tunnel will enhance all-weather connectivity between Srinagar and Sonamarg en route to Leh, bypassing landslide and avalanche routes.
