Assembly Elections 2024 Results
The Election Commission of India (ECI) declared the schedule for the Assembly Elections 2024 in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana on August 16. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, announced the much-anticipated poll dates for the 2024 state elections. Polling in Jammu and Kashmir for its 90 Assembly seats will take place across three phases on September 18 (24 constituencies), 25 (26 constituencies), and October 1 (40 constituencies), while Haryana's 90 seats will witness voting on October 5. The total number of electors as per electoral rolls in Haryana is 2,03,00,255, whereas the total number of electors as per electoral rolls in Jammu and Kashmir is 88,66,704. 17 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes (SCs) in Haryana, while 7 seats are reserved for the SCs in Jammu and Kashmir. 9 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes (STs) in Jammu and Kashmir, whereas no seat is reserved for the STs in Haryana. The counting of votes in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir will take place on October 8. The Election Commission will declare the poll dates for Maharashtra and Jharkhand later.
